Jealousy

Pencil, pens and acrylic on drawing paper

A4

3rd March 2017

The story behind this piece is pretty funny now that I think about it. I was feeling envious and the first image that came to mind was a wolf snarling. I took reference from a picture online and started drawing in hopes to dissipate my negative emotion.

I found that my pencil/pen/marker strokes were rough and reckless. I found my pencil digging into the paper. At times, I found myself snarling and feeling possessive, almost.

I decided to paint the background a dark shade of green because green usually symbolises envy or jealousy.

By the time I felt satisfied with the piece, I found myself not feeling as bad as I did before I started.
